What is EXIF data?

Every photo your phone or camera takes embeds hidden metadata called EXIF data. This can include your exact GPS coordinates, the date and time, your camera/phone model, lens settings, and sometimes even your name. When you share a photo online, anyone who downloads it can extract this data. Removing it before sharing protects your location privacy.
